Rancho Cucamonga is Home to Newest Fatburger

Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., October 17, 2005 -- One of the nation's fastest-growing cities will now play host to one of the West Coast's most popular hamburger stands, as Rancho Cucamonga's first Fatburger restaurant opens today.
Michael Lacy has enjoyed eating hamburgers for as long as he can remember.

His recalls fondly that when he was a child his family would occasionally make the drive from the Inland Empire all the way to the Fatburger restaurant on Western Avenue in Los Angeles just to dine on the huge burgers served there. Later his father's construction business would actually build Southland Fatburger restaurants.

Now as a first-time Fatburger franchisee, Lacy has combined his business skills and passion for burgers for the opening Rancho Cucamonga's first Fatburger restaurant today.

The new restaurant is located adjacent to the Ontario Mills mega shopping center in nearby Ontario, across from the corner of Milliken and 4th Street. The address is 11226 4th Street, Suite 200. Vernon Williams is senior vice president of operations and will serve as the operator. To reach the new location by phone, call 909-484-3557. Orders may be faxed to 909-484-3588.

"It's a honor for me to become a Fatburger franchisee," said Michael, owner of Lacy Enterprises of San Dimas. "Fatburger has a great heritage that began in 1952 when Lovie Yancey opened the very first location in Los Angeles. People working and living near our restaurant have been following our progress, as we get ready to open. We are very excited about bringing the Fatburger brand to the area. We look forward to creating employment and career opportunities, as well as being an active participant in community-oriented programs."

In traditional Fatburger style, the spacious 2,600-square-foot restaurant features a hip '50s retro-style décor accented with neon lighting. The open kitchen lets customers in on the fun as they watch their Fatburgers being prepared to their specifications. Counter and table seating, as well as seating on the outdoor patio, assure their comfort year-round.

To add to the friendly atmosphere inside the restaurant, patrons can enjoy a new breed of Web-enabled digital jukebox capable of playing more than 200,000 songs. The restaurant will employ 35 and accommodates up to 100 guests.

Leading the menu is the popular burger stand's signature 1/3 lb. Fatburger, made with fresh lean USDA domestic beef and available grilled or charbroiled. Lean Turkeyburgers, Chicken Sandwiches and chilidogs round out the offerings. Hamburgers, as well as the other sandwiches, may be garnished with cheese, bacon, egg, or chili.

Guests may choose from an assortment of beverages that includes soft drinks and milkshakes made with real ice cream. The chain's delicious "fat" or "skinny" fries and onion rings, made fresh daily, round out the offerings.

"Michael and his family have been a part of our extended Fatburger family for many years," said Elaine Patel, vice president of marketing, Fatburger North America, Inc. "We know he will be very successful as a Fatburger franchisee."
